Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year A bit about us: A well-established heavy civil construction company is seeking an experienced Safety Director to lead and enhance company-wide safety initiatives across earthwork, utilities, demolition, and paving operations. This leadership role will oversee safety programs, OSHA/MSHA compliance, employee training, jobsite inspections, incident investigations, and continuous improvement efforts. The Safety Director will work closely with executive leadership, project teams, and field personnel to build a strong safety culture and ensure best practices are followed throughout the organization. Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Conduct employee safety training, toolbox talks, and compliance meetings. Perform regular jobsite inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses while performing root cause analysis. Develop corrective and preventative action plans to improve safety performance. Partner with operations leadership and field teams to promote accountability and safety awareness. Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and compliance records. Stay current on industry regulations, safety trends, and construction best practices. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in construction safety, heavy civil safety, industrial safety, or related environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. Experience supporting heavy civil, excavation, utilities, paving, mining, or similar construction operations preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with field employees, leadership, and project teams. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Experience conducting safety training, audits, and incident investigations. Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
