Director of Nursing (DON) - El Monte, California
Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services at Rosemead Healthcare Center, a 24-hour rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in El Monte, California. As a key member of our leadership team, the DON will be responsible for the overall operations, integration, coordination, and direction of nursing and patient care services within the facility. Responsibilities
Provides administrative leadership to the Nursing Department, including budget planning, staffing, and performance evaluations
Oversees the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
Fosters a culture of safety and quality improvement, promoting a patient-centered approach to care
Collaborates with the medical staff and other departments to provide timely and effective care to patients
Ensures accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and reporting requirements
Participates in quality improvement initiatives and conducts regular rounds to observe patient care and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university with a current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing
A minimum of five years full-time or equivalent clinical experience with at least two years' experience in nursing supervision in the long-term care setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and mentor staff
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language
Knowledge of computer use and basic computer skills
Ability to create a patient-centered environment and promote a culture of safety and quality improvement
