Provides strategic leadership for assigned Medical Affairs priorities, programs, or capabilities. Partners across the Medical Affairs organization and with key cross-functional stakeholders to translate medical strategy into coordinated plans, high-quality execution, and measurable impact. Maintains broad visibility across relevant priorities and activities, identifies opportunities and risks, and helps strengthen alignment, collaboration, communication, and consistent ways of working. May lead initiatives spanning scientific engagement, evidence generation, medical communications, field medical, lifecycle planning, organizational effectiveness, or other Medical Affairs responsibilities based on business need. Applies strong scientific, business, and organizational judgment to guide complex initiatives, influence decisions, and promote continuous improvement while ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Partners with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, align, and execute Medical Affairs strategies, plans, and priorities
Leads complex programs or initiatives from planning through implementation, including objectives, roles, timelines, risks, and measures of success
Translates scientific, clinical, business, and organizational information into actionable recommendations and decision-ready insights
Drives improvements in alignment, collaboration, communication, accountability, and execution across Medical Affairs
Establishes and continuously improve consistent processes, governance, tools, and ways of working across teams and programs
Identifies and addresses opportunities to strengthen capabilities, reduce inefficiencies, clarify roles, and promote continuous improvement
Builds trusted partnerships across Medical Affairs and with key cross-functional stakeholders to advance shared priorities
Leads or participates in cross-functional teams, governance forums, and enterprise initiatives, representing Medical Affairs perspectives
Influences without direct authority to drive alignment, sound decision-making, accountability, and resolution of complex issues
Manages assigned budgets, vendors, resources, deliverables, and performance measures in accordance with organizational requirements
Ensures Medical Affairs activities and materials comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies and procedures
May provide leadership, coaching, and development to employees, contractors, or project teams, depending on organizational design

BS/BA degree AND 12+ years of relevant experience OR
Master's degree AND 10+ years of related experience OR
PhD AND 8+ years of related experience
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy, lead complex initiatives, and deliver results in a matrixed environment
Applies in-depth knowledge of own function, business / commercial / scientific expertise to solve critical issues successfully and innovatively
