Project Coordinator, Region 4 Expanded Learning Programs

This position is held in our Whole Child Division, reporting to the Director, Region 4 Expanded Learning Programs, and coordinates and provides technical assistance to expanded learning programs throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco, and Solano Counties. The department supports more than 170 local educational agencies by providing professional learning, coaching, technical assistance, and Continuous Quality Improvement support designed to strengthen both the quantity and quality of expanded learning programs. This work includes promoting high-quality implementation, supporting compliance with state and federal requirements, building the capacity of district leaders, school site coordinators, and frontline staff, and advancing equitable opportunities that prepare young people for college, career, and life.

Requirements / Qualifications

The position supports regional initiatives designed to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of expanded learning programs. The Project Coordinator supports implementation of the Statewide System of Support for Expanded Learning (SSEL) approved Work Plan through professional learning, technical assistance, project coordination, and data management. Responsibilities include facilitating professional learning for frontline expanded learning staff, supporting Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts, coordinating department-wide data systems, and maintaining regional data resources used to inform planning and service delivery. This position works collaboratively with local educational agencies (LEAs), community-based organizations, county offices of education, and the California Department of Education (CDE) to support expanded learning programs throughout Region 4. This position will be in person at ACOE, with some travel (approximately 15% time) to various locations throughout Region 4 and California. Location: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544.

Typical duties include collaborating with the Region 4 Expanded Learning Programs Department to support the implementation of county, regional, and statewide expanded learning initiatives. Design, coordinate, and facilitate professional learning opportunities, communities of practice, networking events, and other capacity-building activities for frontline expanded learning staff. Aggregate, organize, and maintain regional data files and datasets received from the California Department of Education (CDE) and other partners, ensuring data quality, consistency, accessibility, and timely updates. Co-coordinate and conduct in-person After School Education and Safety (ASES), 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) site visits, complete documentation, and coach frontline staff as needed to ensure program quality and compliance. Develop, adapt, and disseminate resources, tools, templates, and communications that support expanded learning programs. Maintain current knowledge of expanded learning legislation, policies, regulations, quality standards, and promising practices and disseminate information as appropriate.

Minimum qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree (Required). Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in education, expanded learning, youth development, or a related field within a school district, county office of education, community-based organization, or similar setting (Required). Experience leading or supporting organizational, district, school, or program improvement efforts (Desirable). Experience managing After School Education and Safety (ASES) and/or 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grants and supporting expanded learning program quality improvement efforts in school settings (Desirable). Familiarity with expanded learning program implementation and coordination of multiple funding streams in school settings (Desirable). Experience facilitating professional learning, coaching, or technical assistance for educators, expanded learning staff, or youth development professionals (Desirable). Valid California driver's license. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
