A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a AI context Engineering

Position type: Contract
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Jersey City, NJ/ Plano, TX & Charlotte, NC

The AI Context Engineer is responsible for designing and creating the Knowledge Base Repository that stores curated business, technical, semantic, and retrieval-ready knowledge used by GenAI. This role focuses on converting source documentation, metadata, business definitions, and mappings into structured AI-consumable context.

Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Base Repository Design
  • Define the structure of the Knowledge Base Repository for Talk to SPI.
  • Create repository organization standards for business terms, data definitions, semantic mappings, retrieval specifications, prompts, rules, and source references.
  • Define naming conventions, folder structure, versioning approach, ownership metadata, and publishing workflow.
  • Ensure the repository can support both human review and machine consumption by the GenAI a platform.

AI Context Artifact Creation
  • Create structured context files that describe Strategic Process Inventory (SPI) business concepts, definitions, synonyms, relationships, metrics, and data mappings.
  • Convert business documentation, PDFs, data dictionaries, and source metadata into AI-usable knowledge artifacts.
  • Define reusable context templates for:
  • Business glossary terms.
  • Table and column context.
  • Metric definitions.
  • Synonyms and alternate phrases.
  • Retrieval rules.
  • Semantic layer inputs.
  • Query generation guidance.
  • Ensure context is concise, relevant, non-duplicative, and grounded in approved source material.

Retrieval and Prompt Context Enablement
  • Define which knowledge artifacts should be retrievable for specific user intents.
  • Organize context to support accurate SQL generation, entity recognition, synonym resolution, and business interpretation.
  • Work with the AI Platform Engineer to ensure the repository can be indexed, deployed, and consumed by the GenAI platform.
  • Support context chunking, tagging, metadata enrichment, and retrieval optimization.

Governance and Lifecycle Management
  • Establish review and approval workflows for AI context artifacts.
  • Track source lineage for every definition, mapping, and rule.
  • Maintain version control of knowledge assets.
  • Define retirement, update, and refresh procedures for stale or superseded knowledge.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs to validate context accuracy.

Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 5+ years in AI context engineering, knowledge management, semantic modeling, data governance, or business metadata management.
  • Experience creating knowledge repositories, business glossaries, or semantic documentation.
  • Experience supporting LLM, RAG, natural-language-to-SQL, or enterprise AI systems.
  • Strong ability to translate complex data and business documentation into structured context.

Programming / Markup Languages
  • Strong YAML and JSON authoring skills.
  • Working knowledge of Markdown for structured documentation.
  • Basic to intermediate Python for parsing, transformation, validation, and repository automation.
  • Familiarity with SQL for understanding data mappings.
  • Optional: familiarity with schema validation formats such as JSON Schema or Pydantic models.

Systems / Tools
  • Git-based repository management.
  • Document repositories such as SharePoint, Confluence, or enterprise content stores.
  • Vector search or retrieval systems conceptually.
  • Metadata repositories or data catalogs.
  • CI/CD pipelines for publishing context assets.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise process management systems (POP, ARIS,SDAR)
  • Exposure to GenAI platforms and LLM-based enterprise solutions
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance-driven data environments
  • Experience with Copilot, Azure DevOps, GitHub, OpenSearch, vector databases, or enterprise RAG platforms.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $50-$55 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
