Deputy Director
This position is currently hybrid. Remote with up to two (2) days in the office per week. The role may involve travel within the state for meetings and community engagement activities. Please note: These working arrangements are subject to change.
What you will be doing:
The Deputy Director serves as the Chief Product Officer's second-in-command, providing executive leadership for the day-to-day operations, administration, and strategic program coordination needed to deliver the CoBEES product portfolio during a multi year technology modernization effort. Working across CDHS, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF), Colorado Department for Early Childhood (CDEC), the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT), counties, and other partners, this role ensures people, resources, processes, and governance are aligned to support successful product delivery, organizational priorities, and better outcomes for Coloradans. The Deputy Director oversees operational planning, program coordination, organizational development, and communications.
Additionally, as a member of the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) extended executive management team (E-EMT), the Deputy plays a key role in the leadership and direction of CoBEES and acts as a strategic advisor to the Chief Product Officer to achieve the team's mission. Acting with delegated authority from the Chief Product Officer, the Deputy Director represents CoBEES as needed in executive, legislative, and interagency settings.
This role is term-limited due to the type of funding available and will be made into a permanent position before the term is over.
Primary Job Duties:
Office Operations and Administration - Provides executive oversight of the administrative and operational functions of the organization to ensure resources, processes, and organizational capabilities support strategic objectives, in partnership with CDHS, HCPF, and OIT offices. This includes organization-wide planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and workforce planning activities; procurement and contract management; and performance management.
Product Portfolio Alignment and Strategic Coordination - Leads enterprise coordination efforts to advance the product strategy established by the Chief Product Officer and ensure product investments, priorities, and execution across programs are aligned with organizational goals and customer needs.
Cross-Agency Stakeholder Engagement and Communications - Leads the organization's stakeholder engagement and communications strategy to strengthen alignment, transparency, and collaboration with program leadership, county leadership, partner organizations, business units, and external entities.
Product Enablement and Shared Services - Provides executive oversight and strategic direction for shared services that support product delivery and customer success for our county workers, medical assistance sites, and clients/residents, including customer support, training, communications, change management, customer feedback, and product analytics.
Other Duties As Assigned - Acts on behalf of the Chief Product Officer in that person's absence, including meeting coverage and decision-making.
