About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Of Counsel Labor & Employment attorney to join a highly regarded Labor & Employment practice representing both public and private sector employers. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned employment litigator looking to take on sophisticated matters involving complex employment disputes, workplace investigations, labor relations, and employment counseling while working within a collaborative and client-focused environment.

The successful candidate will play a significant role in managing employment litigation from inception through resolution, advising employers on compliance with federal and California employment laws, and partnering with clients to develop practical, strategic solutions to workplace challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent employers in complex employment litigation in state and federal courts.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour litigation, including class and collective actions.
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and e-discovery.
• Take and defend depositions, conduct witness interviews, and prepare cases for trial and arbitration.
• Prepare EEOC position statements and responses to the California Civil Rights Department investigations.
• Advise employers on compliance with federal and California employment laws, including ADA, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and disability accommodation requirements.
• Counsel clients on employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, and risk management.
• Support labor relations matters, including collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, MMBA compliance, and administrative proceedings before PERB and NLRB.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to deliver strategic legal solutions and exceptional client service.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the Labor & Employment practice.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• Minimum of 7 years of employment litigation experience.
• Extensive experience handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour litigation.
• Experience with FLSA and California wage and hour class and collective actions.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
• Experience preparing motions, pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Proven experience taking and defending depositions and managing complex discovery.
• Experience preparing EEOC and California Civil Rights Department responses.
• Strong understanding of California employment laws and federal employment regulations.
• Experience providing employment counseling and workplace compliance advice.
• Labor relations experience involving negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, PERB, or NLRB matters is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
