Viridian Staffing's client is looking for an experienced cannabis chemist to join a fast-growing cannabis company as an Extraction Lab Manager within about a 45 mile radius of the Billings, Montana, area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of a regulated, cannabis extraction facility. You will oversee the continued scaling up of extraction operations. You'll establish and document SOP's and ensure you're in compliance with all regulations and SOPs relating to safety, security, and health. As the Lab Manager, you are managing the process, so you are willing to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself. Your prior direct reports consider you to be a collaborative leader with a 'can-do' attitude, who is dedicated to setting the organization up for success. Your background should be a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant degree and at least 5+ years of experience in a laboratory environment and 2+ years' experience managing the lab. The ideal candidate for this position will have 3+ years of experience in managing a closed loop extraction (ie Titan, Precision) cannabis lab with experience in cannabis product formulation, including products like budder, shatter, crumble, crude oil, etc. Ideally, you will also have knowledge/experience doing other types of extraction as well. You have strong communication skills, enabling you to explain (and you enjoy explaining) complex scientific information to non-scientific individuals.
