ABOUT
The Events & External Operations Manager, Athleticsis a key leadership position responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing fan experience, expanding community visibility, and elevating the overall brand of the athletic department. This role provides strategic oversight of marketing, event promotions, in-game entertainment, ticketing operations, merchandise sales, sponsorship development, alumni relations, and community engagement. The position is essential in building a vibrant game-day atmosphere, increasing attendance, and generating external support for NJCAA athletics programs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Marketing, Branding & Promotions
- Develop and execute a comprehensive athletics marketing strategy to increase attendance, awareness, and departmental visibility.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all athletic programs, facilities, and external communications.
- Design creative promotions that strengthen student, campus, and community interest in athletics.
Event Promotions & In-Game Management
- Plan and execute engaging game-day promotions, halftime features, contests, giveaways, and theme nights.
- Coordinate all in-game entertainment elements including music, PA reads, sponsor activations, and crowd engagement.
- Supervise event staff, student workers, and volunteers assigned to promotions and fan experience.
- Collaborate with coaches and operations staff to ensure smooth and energetic event execution.
Ticketing & Revenue Growth
- Oversee ticket sales strategies for season tickets, single-game sales, premium seating, and group packages.
- Implement initiatives to increase attendance and maximize ticket revenue.
- Track sales performance, attendance trends, and revenue metrics to guide future strategies.
- Identify new revenue streams including special events, camps, hospitality areas, and premium experiences.
Community Integration
- Build year-round fan engagement strategies to deepen support among students, alumni, families, and local residents.
- Strengthen the athletic department’s presence in the community by developing community outreach programs connecting athletic teams with schools, civic groups, and local businesses.
Merchandise Sales & Licensing
- Oversee athletics merchandise strategy including branded apparel, online sales, and game-day retail opportunities.
- Collaborate with vendors to expand product offerings and maximize merchandise sales.
- Ensure merchandise reflects institutional branding standards.
Corporate Sponsorships & Partnerships
- In partnership with institutional advancement, manage corporate sponsorship programs including signage, digital assets, and promotions.
- Build relationships with local and regional businesses to secure long-term partnerships.
- Fulfill sponsor agreements and ensure strong return on investment for partners.
Alumni Engagement & Development
- In partnership with Alumni Relations, create strategies to reconnect former student-athletes, coaches, and supporters through alumni events, reunions, recognition nights, and fundraising opportunities.
- Build alumni communication plans highlighting current successes and opportunities for involvement.
Administrative Leadership
- Serve as home game administrator for select events.
- Assist the Athletic Director with strategic planning and departmental growth initiatives.
- Supervise assigned personnel, interns, and student employees.
- Represent the athletic program to the college's internal and external constituencies

WHO YOU ARE
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
Required Experience
One year of experience working in intercollegiate athletics, or related experience
