PMO Analyst

Location: Remote (North America time zones preferred)
Duration: 12 months with potential extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced PMO Analyst with strong expertise in JIRA configuration, administration, and project delivery support to support complex enterprise transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience optimizing JIRA environments to support project planning, scheduling, resource management, Agile delivery, reporting, and governance. This role will partner closely with project managers, program teams, and stakeholders to improve delivery visibility, tracking, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery Support

• Configure JIRA to support project scheduling, dependencies, milestones, timelines, and critical path analysis.
• Enable cross-project and cross-team dependency tracking.
• Support project and program managers with planning, forecasting, resource capacity management, and delivery tracking.
• Translate project delivery frameworks into scalable JIRA configurations.

JIRA Configuration & Administration

• Configure and administer JIRA projects, workflows, issue types, permissions, and schemes.
• Design scalable JIRA structures to support enterprise portfolio, program, and release tracking.
• Implement automation rules, custom fields, workflow logic, and governance standards.
• Ensure data integrity and consistent usage across multiple teams and programs.

Advanced Planning & Scheduling

• Configure JIRA extensions and add-ons to support advanced planning capabilities such as: Gantt charts Roadmaps Resource allocation Timeline planning Scenario planning
• Evaluate and implement solutions that enhance enterprise planning and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure integrations between JIRA and planning tools are stable, governed, and scalable.

Transformation Program Support

• Configure JIRA structures to support large-scale transformation programs with multiple workstreams.
• Enable tracking across functional, technical, integration, and data migration teams.
• Support milestone planning, testing phases, releases, and cutover activities.
• Provide visibility into risks, blockers, dependencies, and cross-program impacts.

Agile Delivery Enablement

• Configure and manage Scrum and Kanban boards.
• Support sprint planning, backlog management, estimation models, and velocity tracking.
• Implement Agile delivery metrics including burn-down, burn-up, throughput, and cycle time reporting.
• Provide guidance on Agile tracking standards and best practices.

Reporting & Dashboards

• Design executive dashboards and program-level reporting views.
• Develop KPI dashboards to provide visibility into delivery performance and program health.
• Create advanced filters, JQL queries, and customized reporting solutions.
• Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and stakeholder visibility.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with project managers, product owners, QA teams, architects, and leadership to define tracking and reporting requirements.
• Train teams on JIRA standards, workflows, reporting, and best practices.
• Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement recommendations.

Required Experience & Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with JIRA configuration and administration.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise-level projects or transformation programs.
• Proven experience with project management functions including dependencies, scheduling, and critical path tracking.
• Advanced knowledge of JIRA workflows, configurations, automation rules, and JQL.
• Experience implementing and managing JIRA WBS Gantt Chart or similar advanced planning tools.
• Strong experience supporting Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience configuring JIRA for testing cycles, defect tracking, and QA reporting.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP transformations, ERP implementations, or large enterprise technology programs.
• Experience working within PMO or program governance environments.
• Knowledge of portfolio management or scaled Agile frameworks.
• Experience integrating JIRA with enterprise tools, reporting platforms, or testing solutions.
• Certifications in Agile, Project Management, QA, or Atlassian technologies.
