The Behavioral Health Coordinator II provides lead case management services, focused on behavioral health leadership and coordination within MWVCAA's ARCHES sheltering programs. The Behavioral Health Coordinator II also provides clinical guidance and support to program staff and may be required to work various shifts outside of their regular schedule, including night and weekends, to ensure timely crisis intervention and continuity of care. Day Shift, Part-time, up to 19 Hours per weekMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMaster's degree in counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field, with current Oregon licensure, and at least two years of relevant experience in behavioral health or social services.Experience working with high-acuity populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or justice-involved or re-entry populations.Experience providing or coordinating mental health crisis response, including risk assessment, de-escalation, and stabilization in shelter or community-based settings.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent, valid Oregon license in a behavioral health discipline permitting independent clinical practice, maintained in good standing throughout employment.Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings. CPR and AED certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESProficiency in electronic documentation systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases, and web-based platforms, with the ability to document services and outcomes accurately and in compliance with program and funding requirements.Knowledge of behavioral health best practices, including trauma-informed care, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and housing-focused service models.Ability to interpret and apply program policies, procedures, and governmental regulations while supporting client-centered services delivery. Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills, including the ability to assess risk, prioritize safety, and respond effectively to mental health crises in shelter, housing, and community-based settings. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.Conducts behavioral health, needs, and risk assessments and develops individualized, housing-focused support plans to address client needs, goals, and barriers to housing stability. Provides clinical judgement and guidance to program leadership and staff based on assessment findings, incident trends, and emerging behavioral health needs. Responds to mental health crises, employing de-escalation techniques and making timely decisions to promote safety for participants, staff, and the broader community. Collaborates with program leadership to develop, implement, and refine assessment tools, protocols, and response practices, recommending modifications as needed. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.Ability to ascend and descend stairs safely and repeatedly.Ability to navigate multiple floors with or without the use of an elevator when necessary.WORK ENVIRONMENT Work occurs across shelter, housing, community, and outdoor settings, serving individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, serious mental illness, crisis-related or unpredictable behaviors, and individuals with current or prior involvement in the criminal justice system. Position may require field-based work, including street outreach, encampment engagement, and response outside traditional office setting and may involve exposure to inclement weather, uneven terrain, and variable environmental conditions. Role requires responsiveness to urgent situations, including travel, on-site intervention, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency medical services. Position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nontraditional work hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as schedule adjustments and mandatory recall to meet program and client needs.Potential exposure to unsanitary conditions, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases; use of PPE may be required per agency policy.
