Job description
Requirements * 5 years of program management experience with engineered products * Multiple product launch experience in the automotive industry as a Tier 1 supplier * Bachelor’s degree in technical degree, or ten years of Project Management experience * Thermal forming experience in manufacturing processes or product development * Design, tooling or skilled trades experience in automotive manufacturing industry
Division Plastics Reports to Regional Engineering Manager Summary Assembly Program Manager will serve as an automation and assembly specialist overseeing the design, construction, and implementation of assembly equipment. Directs activities concerned with implementation of assembly tooling to fulfill the production requirements for new programs and product launches. Core Competencies * Accountability & Dependability * Analytical * Collaborative * Communication * Customer Focus * Creative & Innovating Thinking * Decision Making and Judgement * Detail Oriented * Development & Continual Learning * Ethics & Integrity * Energy and Stress Management * Mathematical Reasoning * Operating Equipment * Planning & Organizing * Problem Solving * Providing Consultation * Quality Orientation * Research & Analysis * Results Driven * Team Work * Time Management Flex-N-Gate Training Requirements * Salaried Orientation * APQP & Product Design * Blood Borne Pathogens * CAD * C-TPAT Training * Confined Space Awareness * Corrective Action * Customer Specific Requirements for PPAP, ISO & TS 16949 * Diversity/ Harassment/ Violence Training * Document Release * Emergency Plan Awareness Training * Environmental Awareness * Ergonomics * Forklift Safety * Geographic Dimensioning & Tolerance * Hazard Communication * Health & Safety Responsibilities * Hearing Conservation Awareness * Hot Work Permit * Incident & Injury Reporting * Internal Auditor Training * ISO 14001 Awareness * Lock out Tag Out Awareness * Lock Out Tag Out Authorized Employee * Machine Guarding * Overhead Crane Safety * Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * PFMEA Overview * Quality Policy * Site Security Awareness * Spill Prevention and Response * Storm Water Pollution and Prevention * Substance Abuse Policy * TS 16949 Overview * Quality Management Systems - CQAM.00001 Quality Management Systems Manual * ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and applicable Customer Specific Requirements Job Duties * Direct and coordinate planning and implementation of product or tool designs ensuring compliance with specifications and codes * Reviews and approves assembly tooling vendors’ proposed designs and processes and follows equipment through all phases of development * Reviews vendor progress to assure adherence to schedules and timelines, modifies or changes methodology or redirects activities as necessary to attain objectives within time and cost limits * Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment, include cost estimates and equipment layout * Assist in the creation, modification and testing of products and processes * Assist in interpreting engineering drawings for production personnel * Assist in the development, evaluation, improvement and documentation of manufacturing processes * Assist in the development and implementation of process control techniques and procedures * Assist in the creation and review of FMEAs and Control Plans * Perform root cause and failure analysis, as required * Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems * Inspect products and processes to identify areas of improvement * Operate computer assisted engineering and design software * Create technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketches * Assist with troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment * Troubleshoot and resolve technical/ product issues in the manufacturing of products * Maintain up-to-date engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices * CHRF.00003 New Employee Orientation * The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS Policy CEVPL.00005 * The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in CQAM.00001 – Corporate Quality Manual. Requirements * Diploma in Engineering Technology or related experience * Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience * Strong working knowledge of Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, Statistical Process, and Machine Controls * Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles * Strong Knowledge of ISO 14001/ TS 16949 * Knowledge of CAD * Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models * Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods * Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to problem solve and chose best solutions * Ability to analyze data and create technical documents * Ability to use common hand tools and power tools * Ability to use common measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, optical equipment, etc. * Proficient in work processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and other database functions such as reporting and analysis * Proven time management and project management skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong organizational skills * Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills * Able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize Working Conditions * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer * Physical ability to lift 30 lbs independently * Attending and/or conducting presentations as necessary * Position will require sitting, walking or standing for 40+ hours per week * Duties may require bending, twisting and climbing ladders as needed * May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing * Ability to travel outside of the US when needed * Over time, including weekend work, as required This job description is not inclusive.
