Catawba Island Club is a private, resort-style club that has been family owned and operated for over 50-years. Our location - directly on the beautiful Lake Erie shore - attracts families from across the mid-west. We are looking for a full time Landscape Manager.Position OverviewCatawba Island Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Horticulturist to oversee all landscape operations across the property. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating exceptional outdoor environments and understands the standards expected at Catawba Island Club. The Landscape Manager will report to the Director of Grounds/Golf Course Superintendent and will lead the team. Also responsible for maintaining gardens, ornamental areas, naturalized spaces, and all non-play course landscapes.Primary ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and supervise daily landscape maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, mulching, and debris removal.Maintain ornamental beds, beds, trees, shrubs, and natural areas to ensure a polished, high-end appearance throughout the property.Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure landscape areas enhance course aesthetics and complement playability.Manage seasonal projects such as annual flower planting, leaf cleanup, snow removal coordination, and event-related landscape preparation.Oversee irrigation systems in landscape areas, including scheduling, troubleshooting, coordinating repairs, and installing irrigation around the clubhouse and golf course.Train, mentor, and evaluate landscape staff; ensure safe and efficient work practices.Monitor plant health, diagnose pest and disease issues, and coordinate appropriate treatments.Assist with budgeting, purchasing materials, and maintaining accurate records of landscape operations.Operate and maintain landscape equipment, ensuring proper care and safety.Upholds the club's standards of excellence in all landscape areas.Qualifications -3-5 years of experience in landscape management, horticulture, groundskeeping, or a related field. -Strong knowledge of plant care, turf basics, irrigation systems, and landscape design principles. -Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team -Familiarity with safe operation of landscape equipment and tools. -Strong organizational and communication abilities. -Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons. -Valid driver's license; pesticide applicator certification is a plus.Job Benefits -$25.00 plus/hour based on experience. -Health, Vision, Dental coverage. -Retirement Plan. -Paid Time Off. -Golf Privileges. -Uniforms. -Continued Education and Professional Development.
