Responsibilities Wellington Regional Medical Center is seeking a talented and dynamic Emergency Room Director to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals! Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. It is a 235-bed, acute care hospital, owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., a highly respected healthcare management organization. Position Summary: Assumes responsibility and accountability for the 24 hour management of the Emergency Services Department and the Free-Standing Emergency Department's to ensure the facility meets the established standard of care.

Key Accountabilities/Duties:

• Reinforces the hospital's vision and business strategy in day-to-day interactions with staff.
• Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination in the operation of department.
• Follows through with responsibilities and assigned tasks.
• Acts as a liaison between the staff and administration as appropriate.
• Coaches and provides feedback to staff to ensure consistency of staff supervision.
• Balances unit/department needs with hospital needs. Sees a clear vision of the department and its operations.
• Ensures delivery of quality services for patients and customers.
• Empowers staff by encouraging decision making and responsibility at the point of service.
• Participates in marketing and communication of hospital services to patients and the community.
• Assesses patient needs and services to identify trends and opportunities to advance the hospital's market position.
• Holds minimum of monthly staff meetings and maintains record of those meetings.
• Motivates staff to maintain positive attitudes and high morale. Provides positive feedback that professionally challenges the staff.
• Encourages continuous learning through mentoring, education and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborates with Senior Manager to develop and recommend annual department capital and operating budgets within specified timeframes.
• Proactively seeks opportunities for cost saving, cost reduction, waste avoidance within the department and hospital.
• Provides appropriate staffing within expectations.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in regulatory responsibilities and expectations of the department.
• Complies with hospital wide and department specific safety policies.

Qualifications Job Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification.
• National certification in specialty area preferred
• 5-7 years clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum 5 years progressive nursing management experience
• BS or BSN required; MS or MSN preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
