Job descriptionJob Summary (Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified Seattle, WA)
- Certification: Must be a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C); other MA types not accepted.
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm (5x8hr shifts); weekends off.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic.
- Setting: Infectious Disease outpatient clinic.
- Responsibilities:
- Take and record vital signs (including EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, vision testing).
- Prepare patients for exams (positioning, draping, history, medications, allergies).
- Set up and assist with procedures (dressing changes, Pap smears, aseptic/sterile trays).
- Administer injections (immunizations, intradermal, intramuscular).
- Collect and label specimens (sputum, stool, throat, urine, vaginal, wound).
- Perform basic laboratory tests (strep, urine dipstick/urinalysis).
- Office duties: chart prep, insurance verification, authorization forms, scheduling, ordering/stocking supplies, pharmacy/patient calls, telephone triage.
- Professional tasks: medication administration, TB tests, aseptic technique, follow-up calls, lab test review, rooming patients, suture removal, wound care.
- Skills: Must be proficient in all listed clinical and administrative skills.
- Charting: Must have experience with EPIC EMR.
- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support), MA-C license.
- Temp-to-Hire: Temporary position with the potential for permanent hire.

- On-Call/Weekend: No on-call or weekend requirement.
- Floating: No floating; assigned to the same clinic daily.
