Job description

Quality Control Analyst

Zippy was founded with one mission: to make getting a loan for a manufactured home simple, fast, and fully online. We believe modern manufactured homes are affordable, well-built, eco-friendly, and stylish, but finding a lender who understands this market can be challenging. That's why Zippy focuses exclusively on manufactured home loans, offering a seamless, digital experience.

Headquartered in Dallas, TX, with an office in Tempe, AZ, Zippy provides home loans and insurance to manufactured home buyers throughout the United States. Our remote-first team is spread across cities like Dallas, Houston, Knoxville, Omaha, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and several other states and cities. Backed by institutional investors, we offer competitive pay, stock options, and excellent benefits. At Zippy, we pride ourselves on our commitment to finance happiness through the power of home. We are dedicated to enhancing consumers' financial outcomes and tackling the affordable housing crisis through cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.

Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying that our chattel loan origination and servicing operations comply with applicable state and federal regulations, investor requirements, and internal policies.

In addition to conducting file reviews, this role will play a critical part in performing data trending analysis to identify systemic risk. Your work will directly support regulatory readiness, investor confidence, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Reviews: Review and analyze chattel loan origination and servicing documentation and processes to ensure adherence to applicable state and federal regulations, investor requirements, and company policies. Identify discrepancies, document findings, and escalate non-compliance issues as appropriate.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular file reviews of loan originations and servicing activities, including underwriting, closing, boarding, payment processing, default management, and other operational areas. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Data Analysis and Trending: Compile review results and perform periodic trending analysis to identify patterns, root causes, and emerging compliance risks. Prepare summary reports for management that include key metrics, risk assessments, and recommended remediation strategies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized records of quality control reviews and findings. Prepare clear and detailed reports outlining review scope, observations, corrective action requirements, and follow-up status.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Servicing, Compliance, and Management to communicate findings, support corrective action implementation, and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Compliance-related certifications are a plus, but not required.

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in home loan/mortgage lending and/or servicing compliance, quality control, quality assurance, risk management, or internal audit, preferably within the manufactured home or chattel lending space.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing home loan/mortgage lending and servicing, as well as investor oversight expectations.
  • Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Microsoft Forms. Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights. Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
