Description

ABOUT US
Aeris Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Project Canary, develops and commercializes advanced, laser-based gas analyzers for trace gas monitoring across environmental, industrial, laboratory, and field applications. Aeris instruments deliver high-precision, real-time measurements of greenhouse gases, atmospheric pollutants, and natural gas leak indicators, helping customers collect reliable data in fixed, mobile, handheld, and aerial configurations.

As part of Project Canary, Aeris supports a broader climate technology platform that helps energy companies improve and report on their emissions footprint. Project Canary combines high-fidelity sensors, data from multiple technologies and sources, and proprietary analytics to deliver actionable insights that help operators stop leaks faster, reduce risk, streamline reporting, and differentiate their operations for key stakeholders.

Aeris’s technology brings lab-grade gas sensing performance into the field, supporting applications in environmental monitoring, industrial safety, air quality, research, and emissions measurement.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly & Materials Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for assembling gas analyzer systems and accurately handling, recording, and documenting the materials used to build them.
The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical skills, technical knowledge, process discipline, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspections and quality checks to confirm assembled units meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and flag errors in bills of materials, part numbers, and assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly work, test results, parts consumed, and issues encountered.
  • Use NetSuite to transact materials and update work order and sales order status accurately and in real time.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process improvements.
Material Handling and Inventory Control
  • Receive, kit, stage, and issue materials to work orders, confirming correct part numbers, quantities, and revisions.
  • Complete inventory transactions accurately and on time, including receipts, issues, transfers, backflushes, and returns.
  • Understand how inventory transactions affect on-hand balances, work order costs, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain material identification and traceability through labeling, lot and serial number capture, location identifiers, and status tags.
  • Perform cycle counts, investigate variances, and reconcile differences between physical inventory and system records.
  • Prepare and maintain pick lists, material transfer records, deviation reports, discrepancy reports, and audit-ready historical records.
  • Document and escalate deviations from established material processes, including unplanned pulls, substitutions, and uncontrolled material movement.
  • Maintain 5S standards in assembly and stockroom areas, including cleanliness, organization, visual identifiers, and defined material locations.
Shipping and Receiving
  • Pack, document, and prepare finished units, spare parts, and return merchandise authorization shipments using appropriate shipping methods and carriers.
  • Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and route discrepancies for resolution.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in an assembly or manufacturing role within an established manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical assembly instructions.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Confluence or Jira.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience assembling gas analyzers or similar technical products.
  • Experience using NetSuite or a similar enterprise resource planning system.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to work with small components and tools.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with low deductibles and premiums paid by company 99% for self and 50% for dependents and/or spouse
