Social Services Analyst Supervisor

Job Title

This supervisor coordinates the overall operations and programmatic functions of the eligibility aspects of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). This work involves the direct supervision of Social Service Analysts 1, 2, and 3 positions and various clerical positions. The supervisor oversees the assessment, evaluation, and provision of CCAP to eligible families. The supervisor ensures, through the monitoring and review of individual analyst workloads, the accuracy and timeliness of providing child care assistance.

The preferred candidate should have at least one year of administrative experience. Knowledge of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), CAF, CAPS, and/or Eligibility Certification are preferred but not required. Basic knowledge in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Slides and Outlook are also preferred.

Six years of experience in social services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in social services; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in social services; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus two years of experience in social services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties

• Supervises Social Services Analysts in a specified unit or geographical area through training, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work performance. Responsibility may extend to multiple parishes.
• Keeps abreast of all aspects of assigned program and its relatedness to other agency programs and community resources, both public and private. Responsible for maintenance of acceptable standards for assigned program.
• Assumes lead responsibility for the conciliation procedure to resolve disputes related to an individuals participation in their assigned program. Interviews complainants and investigates for resolution.
• Prepares required reports relative to assigned unit activities. Reviews and analyzes records for quality assurance. Compiles data and statistical information for written reports.
• Orients staff in all areas of staff development functions. Conducts individual and group conferences with staff to increase their skill and efficiency.
• Maintains working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies both in the public and private sector.
• Participates in the recruitment, appointment, promotion, discipline, and dismissal of staff in accordance with Department and Civil Service Rules.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
