As our Technical Assistant, you will perform tasks directly involved in transporting patients and specimens within the hospital and/or dispatching transporters to and from all departments, as needed, to ensure timely and consistent delivery.
Every day, you will assist nursing with lifting and moving patients as needed to ensure a smooth transport process for patients. Transports patients in gurneys or wheelchairs in a safe and courteous manner To be successful in this role, you must possess strong organizational skills, an aptitude for technical concepts, and a keen attention to detail in a support-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates through actions a focus on the care and safety of patients having Imaging exams.
- Transports patients of all age groups at the direction of the Technical staff.
- Exercises tact, sympathy, and professionalism in dealing with patients and relatives in all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
- Assists in the delivery of Imaging reports to the nursing units and patient charts.
- Keeps management staff fully informed of all issues relating to departmental operations.
This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Required:
- High School Diploma / GED General Studies
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required.
