Medical Receptionist/Front Office
Location: Manhattan and Brooklyn
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Maiden Lane Medical is a leading, patient-centered, multi-specialty medical practice with seven locations across New York City. We are seeking Medical Receptionists to help support our busy practice.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule appointments for patients.
Obtain and enter accurate demographic information and enter into the EMR.
Answer the telephone promptly, politely, and professionally.
Schedule appointments correctly - review appointment date, time, and location.
Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service.
Make patient reminder calls as requested.
Make calls to reschedule appointments when necessary.
Help patient check in for their appointments, collect proper copays, deductibles and balances.
Behave in a very professional and accommodating manner.
Light scanning/filing.
Other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
Ability to relate to persons with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to exercise good judgment to handle difficult patients successfully.
Ability to demonstrate good customer service.
Associate's Degree or related healthcare certification preferred.
One year of experience in customer service and/or related clinical environment; working knowledge of medical terminology.
Preference will be given to applicants with physical therapy, women's health, and eClinicalWorks experience.
