Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) | Other
Location: Reserve, LA
Agency: 22nd Century Healthcare, Inc.
Pay: $20 to $22 per hour
Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours
Contract Duration: 4 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP

About the Position

Shift : 7AM-7PM

Job Description:

The Nursing Assistant is non-professional nursing work involving responsibility for providing personal service to assist in the care and recover, of chronically ill. geriatric. psychiatric and or chemically dependent patients. Incumbent in this position receives general supervision from the Psychiatric Aide Supervisor

  • 25% Directs and assists in providing care to patients such as ambulating, bathing, positioning. lifting and dressing. Instructs and trains subordinates in patient care techniques, serves as lead worker over lower level subordinates.
  • 20% Directs and assist in the feeding of. patients. Monitor and documents eating patterns of patients.
  • 10% Cleans roams. makes and changes bed linens.
  • 8% Inspect resident rooms. equipment, supplies and area cleanliness: reports deficiencies or maintenance problems.
  • 8% Distributes clean linens. washes dries and folds and stores patient's clothing. Perform general housekeeping task which includes dry and wet mopping floors.
  • 6% Cleans equipment such as whirlpool tub, weight scale. Hoyer lift, wheelchair weight scale, bed pan. sterilizer. and prosthetics.
  • 6% Measures temperature, pulse. respiration. blood pressure, height. weight. intake and output and records in patient's medical record.
  • 5% Observe patient's condition and reports any changes to charge nurse.
  • 4% Inventories patient belongings or admission labels all items and documents on medical record.
  • 3% Escorts/transports patients to examinations, clinics, recreations sites, physical therapy and other areas as indicated. Assists physicians and nurses with various examinations and treatments.
  • 1% Collects. labels and transports laboratory specimens as assigned.
    Provide care to patients with infectious diseases, as needed.
  • 1% Performs specific treatments/procedures under directions. of a professional nurse such as changing dressings and Nasopharyngeal suctioning,
  • 1% Changes bandages and reinforces sterile dressings under professional direction.
  • 1% Assist professional staff in responding to emergency situations.
  • 1% Inventories., order, stocks and distributes supplies as needed.

Performs other related duties as required.

Patient Ratio Average- 8-12
