Center 50+ is a vibrant organization serving older adults through programs, services, and community connection that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life. As the organization enters an exciting period of growth, including an active multi-year growth campaign, expanded fundraising efforts, and building a culture of philanthropy, Center 50+ is seeking a 2-year limited duration Partnership Coordinator to build and lead a comprehensive advancement program from the ground up. The Partnership Coordinator is a hands-on leader responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Center 50+'s partnership, fundraising and advancement strategy. As the organization's first development hire in many years, this role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day execution, including business sponsorships, individual giving, planned giving, gift tracking, events, grants, campaign support, and board engagement.

This position works closely with the Director of Center 50+, the Board of Directors, campaign counsel, foundation counsel, and City partners to build a sustainable culture of philanthropy and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow a culture of philanthropy across Center 50+, supporting staff, board members, and leadership in donor engagement.
  • Utilize fundraising best practices and industry benchmarks to continuously improve fundraising effectiveness.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Director of Center 50+ on fundraising priorities, donor strategy, and external relationships.
  • Assist Center 50+ non-profit with securing and managing business sponsorship and advertising agreements.

Individual Giving & Donor Engagement

  • Develop and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, online appeals, and other direct-response strategies.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors through personalized communications and engagement opportunities.
  • Analyze donor data and campaign results to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Track and report on fundraising performance, providing regular updates and analysis to leadership.
  • Integrate individual giving strategies with broader fundraising initiatives, including events, campaign activity, and partnerships.

Major Gifts & Campaign Support

  • Support the Director of Center 50+ in managing and stewarding a donor portfolio, including preparation for donor meetings, follow-up, and stewardship.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of mid-level and major donors.
  • Work closely with Friends of Center 50+ non-profit and campaign counsel to support the strategic and operational needs of the campaign.
  • Assist Friends of Center 50+ to manage the back-end administration of the fundraising campaign, including tracking all campaign gifts and pledges.
  • Ensure accurate acknowledgment, reporting, and reconciliation of campaign and major gifts.

Systems, Operations & CRM Implementation

  • Manage a CRM/database, serving as the primary administrator.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures for gift processing, data entry, reporting, and data integrity following best practices and City of Salem policy.
  • Track all gifts and pledges to the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong stewardship.
  • Build scalable development systems to support future growth.

Foundation Relations & Grants

  • Partner with foundation counsel to execute a foundation strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Support grant writing, submissions, and reporting, with a focus on operational and general support grants.
  • Cultivate relationships with foundation leaders.

Board Relations & Governance Support

  • Support the Director of Center 50+ in working with the Board of Directors on fundraising and advancement matters.
  • Prepare development updates, reports, and materials for board meetings and committees.
  • Partner with board members to increase engagement in fundraising and donor cultivation, as appropriate.
  • Support board education around fundraising goals, progress, and best practices.

City Partnership & Contract Support

  • Support the Director of Center 50+ in stewarding the organization's relationship between the City of Salem and the Friends of Center 50+ 501c3.
  • Assist in managing the City partnership with Friends and implementing a MOU and comprehensive resource development plan, including coordination, reporting, and compliance support as needed.

Events Management

  • Serve as a Liaison and assist with managing Friends of Center 50+'s signature fundraising events, including Cup of Joe and Boot, Scoot and Brews.
  • Oversee planning, logistics, sponsorships, donor follow-up, and post-event reporting.
  • Ensure events are integrated into overall donor stewardship and fundraising strategy.

Day-to-Day Development Execution

  • Create and implement policies, procedures and infrastructure for gift processing, acknowledgments, donor data management, and reporting following best practices and City of Salem Policies.
  • Create templates, workflows, and calendars to support efficient development operations.
  • Lay the foundation for future development staffing and growth.
