The Occupational Therapist coordinates and provides restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services, working closely with the PACE Physician, rehabilitation staff, and other IDT members to maximize participant independence and safety, as well as enhance performance of ADLs.
This role is different because Occupational Therapists :
- Lower patient volumes – no more seeing 3-4 patients an hour
- Form long-term relationships with participants rather than short-term rehab stints
- Collaborate with other therapists, providers, and disciplines
- Have work/life balance - no after hours of documentation
On the day-to-day, you will:
- Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments in our facility and occasionally in the home to define participant care needs, preferences, and goals
- Actively participate in IDT meetings to develop participant care plans
- Deliver and document interventions as agreed upon in participant care plans
- Provide active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training of ADLs
- Work with Therapy Assistants, providing training, instruction, and guidance needed to implement Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP)
Requirements
Job requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy; master’s preferred
- Valid California Occupational Therapy License, or proof of license eligibility
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter; CPR and First Aid certification upon hire preferred

RequirementsTrauma informed leadership skills Demonstrated competency in working within complex psychiatric service delivery systems. Cultural sensitivity and competence in working with diverse client populations. Capacity to maintain ethical and professional standards. Ability to work with both adults and children with mild, moderate, and severe behavioral health issues and needs. Ability to provide care and evaluations for clients with substance use disorders and individuals with dual diagnosis. Knowledge and experience connecting to telehealth and utilizing electronic medical records and telehealth platforms.
