GIS Analyst

Job Description:

• Review Government-furnished inventory items and cross-reference them against the NAVCEN Port Status application and Harmonized Waterways Dataset Explorer
• Identify corresponding features, applicable identifiers, standardized and alternate names, responsible COTP, available geometry, source lineage, and data discrepancies
• Develop and maintain source crosswalk data
• Support the decision register
• Implement the approved data schema
• Produce and validate polygons
• Perform topology checks
• Document metadata
• Support incremental production package delivery
• Resolve geometry and attribution issues
• Identify discrepancies requiring Government adjudication
• Support automated and manual validation processes

Requirements:

• At least five years of professional GIS experience
• Experience with polygon production, geodatabase design, attribute-schema implementation, topology validation, metadata development, and source lineage documentation
• Proficiency with Esri geospatial tools or equivalent platforms
• Experience working with maritime, hydrographic, transportation, infrastructure, emergency management, or authoritative Government geospatial datasets preferred
• Detail-oriented and methodical, with ability to apply repeatable geospatial production standards across a large national dataset
• Must be proficient in English, written and verbal
• Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
• Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy
• Authorized to work in the US or authorized by the successful candidate’s start date
