Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rapid Response Duration: 6 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Must-Have: Candidates must have AWHONN Fetal Monitoring experience. Candidates must be able to perform couplet care if floated. Description: The role involves providing rapid response services in a labor and delivery setting. The unit includes 11 labor beds, 4 OB evaluation beds, 2 OB PACU beds, and 2 operating rooms. There are 79 staff members on the unit providing care. The typical patient ratios range from 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient depending on the situation. The equipment used includes GE fetal monitoring and the EMRs CPN, Meditech. Typical procedures performed include Non-Stress Tests, cervical exams, managing labor, and titrating medications. An ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple patients. Weekends and on-call shifts may be required as part of filling in staffing needs.
