|Yonkers, NY Schedule: Full-Time | 4-Day Work Week Compensation: $28–$38/hour Join Animal Specialty Center (ASC) in Yonkers, NY as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in our brand-new Dentistry & Oral Surgery service.
  • This full-time opportunity is ideal for a Licensed Veterinary Technician who is passionate about dentistry, anesthesia, and specialty medicine and is excited to help build a new specialty department while working alongside an experienced team in one of the Northeast's premier emergency and specialty animal hospitals.

    • Life and AD&D + Short & Long-Term Disability + Critical Illness + Accident + Hospital Indemnity 401(k) with employer match Employee Assistance Program Schedule Full-Time; Four-day work week As a Veterinary Technician , you will provide advanced nursing care and technical support for patients undergoing specialty dentistry and oral surgical procedures while working closely with board-certified specialists and the hospital's collaborative specialty teams.
    • Perform complete patient assessments and accurately document medical records Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Deliver exceptional nursing care for hospitalized and outpatient dentistry patients Monitor patient comfort and advocate for effective pain management Educate clients on dental disease, treatment plans, home care, and discharge instructions Assist with advanced dental procedures, oral surgery, biopsies, maxillofacial procedures, and specialty dentistry services Obtain high-quality dental radiographs and assist with advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT when indicated Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning, instrumentation, and aseptic preparation Induce, intubate, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia for dental and oral surgical procedures Utilize advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment and respond appropriately to anesthetic complications Develop individualized anesthetic monitoring plans for complex cases under veterinary supervision Prepare and maintain surgical suites, instruments, and sterile packs Maintain dental equipment, imaging systems, monitoring devices, and operatories Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies and instruments Support regulatory compliance, infection control, and department safety standards Collaborate with specialists and fellow Veterinary Technicians to help establish workflows and best practices as this new specialty service continues to grow Qualifications Required Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Strong experience with veterinary anesthesia and patient monitoring Experience assisting with surgery Experience performing or assisting with veterinary dentistry procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Preferred Specialty, referral, or emergency hospital experience Previous veterinary dentistry and oral surgery experience Experience with dental radiography Familiarity with advanced anesthesia techniques and monitoring equipment Interest in pursuing advanced dental training and continued professional development About Animal Specialty Center Animal Specialty Center is one of the premier specialty and emergency veterinary hospitals in the Northeast, serving pets throughout Westchester County, New York City, Connecticut, and the surrounding region.
