Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent, high-touch, primary care, and coordinating the care of our patients throughout the healthcare delivery system. Medical Assistant/Phlebotomists are an important part of our Care Teams. High levels of flexibility, attention to detail, and problem solving are required to be successful. You will be expected to build relationships with Oak Street Health members. Medical Assistants will work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room Oak Street Health patients. They will be expected to assist in assessing a patient's health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments.
Core responsibilities include ensuring efficient patient flow, delivering an exceptional patient experience, obtaining vital signs, delivering patient screenings per protocols, ordering supplies and stocking exam rooms, conducting routine quality control checks, ensuring exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visits, providing telephonic support to patients under direction of an RN, provider and/or protocol, assisting providers, RNs or social workers with home based support for high risk members, administering vaccinations and performing procedures under direction of an RN or Provider, performing waived laboratory testing, scheduling diagnostic testing, applying or assisting with application of durable medical equipment, supporting care team with obtaining medical records, participating in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations, and other duties as assigned.
We are looking for candidates with CPR certification, medical assistant certification or registration, 3-5 years in a medical assistant role preferred, EMR experience required, 2 or more years of experience working with geriatric patients, phlebotomy technician certification preferred, strong communication skills and customer service orientation, problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude, fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve (where necessary), US work authorization, and someone who embodies being "Oaky" by radiating positive energy, assuming good intentions, creating an unmatched patient experience, driving clinical excellence, taking ownership and delivering results, and being scrappy.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40. Time type: Full time. Pay range: $18.50 - $31.72. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
