Job Title

Central Point of Contact (Supervisory Examiner LBO)

The Large Banking Organization (LBO) business line is seeking a Central Point of Contact (Supervisory Examiner LBO) to lead a team of examiners in providing supervisory oversight for an LBO located in Columbus, Ohio. The Central Point of Contact (CPC) role is the Reserve Bank's main liaison for the supervision an LBO. This position involves leading a team that conducts forward-looking assessments of an institution's financial strength and operational resilience. CPCs also play a key role in implementing and ensuring adherence to the Federal Reserve System's Statement of Supervisory Operating Principles.

The CPC position requires advanced knowledge of regulations, guidance, procedures and practices applicable to LBOs. This role also requires a strong ability to identify and evaluate material financial risks to the safe and sound operations of an LBO.

This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents may be eligible for the information access required for this position and sponsorship for a work visa, and subsequently for permanent residence, if they sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen and meet other eligibility requirements.

In addition, all candidates must undergo an enhanced background check and comply with all applicable information handling rules, and all non-U.S. citizens must sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen and pursue a path to citizenship.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Developing and executing a risk-based supervisory plan for the supervised LBO focused on forward-looking assessments of financial and operational resiliency.
  • Communicating supervisory assessments to LBO management and directors, Reserve Bank Officers, staff at the Board of Governors, and other regulators.
  • Leading or significantly influencing the most critical strategic and operational committees, projects, and initiatives at the local and national levels.
  • Providing management and coaching to the assigned dedicated supervisory team direct reports and to risk specialists that support the team.
  • Performing periodic outreach presentations in support of the Reserve Bank's mission to external stakeholders on industry/regulatory trends.
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with executive management and members of the board of directors of the supervised institution through regular and in-depth discussions to understand changes in strategy, issues, and challenges facing the institution.
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with the primary regulator(s) to coordinate on supervisory strategy, and leverage/coordinate work.
  • Maintaining knowledge of emerging issues, trends, banking and economic conditions, and ongoing developments in the LBO supervision community, as well as a strong understanding of industry risk management practices.
  • Attracting, developing, and retaining high caliber professional staff with diverse capabilities and backgrounds, and developing successors for key roles.
  • Demonstrating learning agility and ability to effectively manage through ambiguity when faced with new or evolving supervisory topics and regulations and/or managing problems/situations that do not have clear solutions or outcomes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of related work experience in specialty area required
  • Commissioned Examiner of the Federal Reserve System or another federal banking agency and experience with large bank supervision

Location and Travel

This position may be based in Cleveland, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role requires approximately 25% travel, though travel requirements will be less for an individual based in Columbus, Ohio.

Salary

The expected starting salary range for the Supervisory Examiner is between ?$187,500 and $234,400 annually. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
