Job description

BUILD HOMES. CREATE COMMUNITY. BUILD YOUR CAREER.

Ironcore Construction is growing—and we’re looking for a Multifamily Construction Project Manager who wants more than just another project.

We’re looking for a builder, problem-solver, and leader who takes ownership, brings teams together, and wants to help deliver multifamily communities that make a lasting impact across California.

If you know multifamily construction and want the opportunity to work alongside an experienced construction leadership team while taking real ownership of your projects, we want to meet you.

WHO IS IRONCORE?

Ironcore Construction is a California general contractor and full-service construction and development company with a strong specialization in multifamily and affordable housing.

Throughout their careers, members of the Ironcore team have completed 150+ major construction, renovation, addition, and conversion projects representing more than $1.5 billion in construction value.

Our mission goes beyond constructing buildings. We strive to be a leader in our industry, deliver exceptional service to our clients, and add value to communities through our commitment to affordable housing.

Our culture is built around six core values:

Integrity | Vision | People | Safety | Innovation | Continuous Improvement

At Ironcore, our philosophy is simple:

Building Homes. Creating Community.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Multifamily Construction Project Manager, you’ll take a leadership role in the successful delivery of multifamily construction projects from planning through completion.

You'll partner directly with Project Executives, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to drive the budget, schedule, quality, safety, and overall success of your projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants ownership and accountability—not simply another seat at the table.

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Lead day-to-day project management for multifamily construction projects.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change management.
  • Drive project schedules and proactively identify risks to critical milestones.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings for constructability, coordination, and potential project risks.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate permitting processes and requirements with local jurisdictions.
  • Lead weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings and clearly communicate project status, budget, schedule, risks, and upcoming priorities.
  • Build productive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor procurement and material deliveries to identify potential delays before they impact the schedule.
  • Drive quality-control efforts throughout construction.
  • Help resolve field and project issues quickly and decisively.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and other project team members.
  • Promote Ironcore’s commitment to safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3–7+ years of construction project management experience, with multifamily experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily construction means, methods, sequencing, and project delivery.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change orders.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong financial and project-controls mindset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving construction environment.
  • A proactive mentality—you identify problems, develop solutions, and take ownership of the outcome.
