Senior Academic Human Resources Analyst

Under the general direction of the Academic Personnel Director, the Senior Academic Human Resources Analyst will administer the hiring process of the Law School's non-ladder faculty. The Law School currently houses 20 academic units with 60 ladder faculty and 40 non-ladder appointments and is expected to aggressively expand its academic program presence over the next three years. This involves incorporating short-course programs at the end of each semester to allow students to take a higher course load in a shorter period of time. In order to accomplish this, the Law School anticipates an increase of 12 new non-ladder faculty hires over the period of the next three years. Incumbent will develop a strategy for the recruitment and retention of non-ladder faculty that is reflective of the long-range objectives of the Law School.

This position operates under a hybrid work arrangement and requires regular on-site work 2-3 days per week. Additional on-site attendance may be required to meet department and operational needs. To support onboarding, training, and acclimation to the role, the incumbent may be expected to maintain a more frequent on-site presence during the initial training period.

Salary & Compensation: UCLA provides a full pay range. Qualifications

• 5-7 Years professional experience working in a position of increasing responsibility at an institution of higher education. (Required)
• Experience using Microsoft 365 including outlook, excel, power point, word. (Required)
• Experience using the DAT (Dossier Action Tracking) System for Academic Personnel purposes. (Preferred)
• Experience using UC/UCLA proprietary systems, including CDW, UCPath, TRS, and Tracker I?9, to accurately process transactions, access data, and support departmental operations. (Preferred)
• Detailed knowledge of and ability to accurately interpret university policies and procedures regarding academic personnel as contained in the APM and The CALL. (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Non-Senate Faculty (Lecturers). (Preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define problems or objectives, identify relevant concerns, patterns and relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and to recognize alternatives. (Required)
• Skill in organizing material, information, and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort. (Required)
• Ability to draft concise, accurate, grammatically correct correspondence, departmental letters, analytical reports, policies, procedures, and recommendations; strong command of punctuation and professional writing standards. (Required)
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, senior administrators, students, staff, and external legal community leaders across all levels of an organization. (Required)
• Working knowledge of the academic salaries budgetary system (Academic Planning and Budget). (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of University benefits, including group insurance regulations and various University sponsored benefits plans. (Preferred)
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. (Required)
• Ability to perform a multiple of tasks effectively with frequent interruptions and distractions, a heavy workload with competing deadlines and with constantly changing priorities. (Required)
• Skill in exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate policy, make joint decisions and arrive at solutions. (Required)
• Knowledge of academic recruitment and selection guidelines and procedures. (Required)

• Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training (Required)

• Ability to work on-site at UCLA's Campus/Law Building a minimum of 2-3 times per week with additional days on-site as needed by business operations. (Required)
