WORKFORCE TRAINING ENROLLMENT & EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Part-Time | 3-Month Contract | $25–$35/hour | Western Massachusetts
THE OPPORTUNITY
The MH Group is seeking a highly connected, results-driven Workforce Training Enrollment & Employer Engagement Consultant for an immediate three-month contract engagement.
The mission is clear: help fill 140 paid seats in an established leadership development training program by connecting with employers and converting those relationships into enrollments.
This is not a strategy, curriculum development, or program planning position. The program, marketing materials, pricing, and funding pathway are already established. We need an executor—a relationship builder who can open doors, make the ask, follow through, and close.
The ideal candidate already has a strong network of employers, HR professionals, nonprofit leaders, and organizational decision-makers throughout Western Massachusetts and can begin leveraging those relationships immediately.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Engage employers and generate enrollments — Leverage your existing professional network while conducting targeted outreach to employers throughout Western Massachusetts, with nonprofit organizations serving as an initial area of focus.
- Present the opportunity — Conduct virtual conversations and presentations with HR professionals, executives, business owners, nonprofit leaders, and other decision-makers to explain the leadership training opportunity and secure employee enrollments.
- -Convert relationships into commitments — Make direct asks, follow up consistently, address questions, and move interested employers toward selecting and committing employees for upcoming training cohorts.
- Guide employers through reimbursement — The training is approved through the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Express Program. Qualifying Massachusetts employers may be eligible for full reimbursement of training costs. You will use an established step-by-step process to help employers understand eligibility requirements and complete required documentation.
- Manage enrollment from start to finish — Once an employer commits, you will own the process—helping coordinate documentation, registration, cohort selection, invoicing, and follow-up through payment.
- Manage your pipeline — Maintain organized records of employer outreach, presentations, commitments, applications, registrations, outstanding invoices, and paid enrollments.
- Report results — Participate in weekly meetings with the recruitment team to review outreach activity, pipeline movement, upcoming deadlines, challenges, and results.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- An Established Western Massachusetts Employer Network (Key Requirement). Candidates should already have active professional relationships with employers and organizational decision-makers throughout Western Massachusetts. Relationships within the nonprofit community are particularly valuable. Because this is a three-month engagement with an immediate enrollment goal, this position is not designed for someone who needs to build an employer network from the ground up.
Relevant Professional Background
Strong candidates may come from:
- Human Resources
- Staffing and recruiting
- Workforce development
- Employer relations
- B2B sales or business development
- Training or professional development sales
Recently transitioned HR, staffing, or workforce development professionals with strong employer relationships are encouraged to apply.
Strong Sales Instincts
- You should be comfortable:
- Opening doors and initiating conversations
- Presenting virtually to organizational decision-makers
- Making a direct ask for participation
- Following up consistently
- Moving prospects through a sales pipeline
- Asking for the commitment and closing business
Exceptional Follow-Through
A verbal "yes" isn't the finish line. You must be organized enough to shepherd employers from the initial conversation through required documentation, registration, invoicing, and payment. Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple employer relationships simultaneously are essential.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The engagement has a defined goal: 140 paid training seats over the three-month engagement. Success will be measured by your ability to generate employer conversations, convert those conversations into commitments, and carry enrollments through to payment.
THIS MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF...
- You spent years in HR, staffing, workforce development, employer relations, or business development and have built trusted relationships with employers throughout Western Massachusetts.
- You know who to call. You are comfortable making that call. And you know how to turn a conversation into action.
- If you have the relationships, sales instinct, organization, and drive to help employers access valuable leadership development opportunities, we want to hear from you.
