This role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Quality to drive process capability, reduce variation, investigate quality issues, develop team capability, and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement. The position promotes disciplined quality management practices aligned with ISO 9001 principles such as process control, risk-based thinking, document control, corrective action, and continual improvement, while supporting the plant's business objectives without maintaining formal certification.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead daily quality assurance and quality control activities, including but not limited to incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, shipping, and customer / supplier resolutions.
  • Coach and develop plant personnel in conjunction with the Plant Trainer to ensure quality is owned by all employees.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration systems, testing methods, and quality records.
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods including, but not limited to 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, and statistical analysis.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify long-term effectiveness.
  • Partner with Operations to improve first-pass yield, reduce defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and process variation.
  • Support document control, standard work, audits, and process discipline using an ISO 9001 mindset.
  • Monitor SPC, process capability, trends, and quality KPIs while communicating performance to leadership.
  • Perform WIP, line, and finished goods audits.
  • Support new product introductions, raw material qualifications, and process validation activities.
  • Champion customer-focused quality, containment, quarantine, and nonconforming material control.
  • Stay current on emerging quality technologies, metrology, digital quality systems, AI-enabled inspection, vision systems, and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve plant performance.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing HMOS, Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven decision making.
  • Support internal training on quality standards, specifications, testing methods, and problem-solving.
  • Assisting with the qualification of new raw materials and raw material suppliers through in-plant testing, as necessary.
  • Maintains stringent Quality records.
  • Lead or participate in additional assignments supporting plant objectives.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of quality experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with SPC, root cause analysis, audits, and quality systems.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or ASQ certifications preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Ability to work on the manufacturing floor while following all PPE requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and spend significant time standing and walking.
