Job Title: CT Technologist
Location: Brockton, MA

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join a hospital-based imaging team. The CT Technologist will perform diagnostic CT examinations on patients across the lifespan while maintaining high standards for patient safety, image quality, radiation protection, and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and adjusting priorities based on emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and STAT imaging needs. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform CT examinations on patients of all ages, from newborns through geriatric patients, using appropriate adult and pediatric protocols.
  • Communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Review imaging requisitions for completeness and required information and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Properly identify and prepare patients for examinations, answer questions, and provide appropriate instructions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to safely obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Follow appropriate radiation protection and shielding procedures.
  • Apply ALARA principles and utilize appropriate dose-reduction techniques.
  • Understand and apply Image Wisely and Image Gently principles.
  • Adjust CT protocols based on individual patient characteristics and clinical requirements.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images using department CT equipment.
  • Follow aseptic technique, universal protocol, and Standard Precautions as appropriate.
  • Prepare and administer oral and IV contrast media in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Follow all IV contrast protocols, including screening, hydration, extravasation management, medication reconciliation, and premedication requirements.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new CT personnel.
  • Monitor CT equipment and support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Follow PACS workflow procedures to ensure examinations are properly identified, complete, and ready for interpretation.
  • Demonstrate competency with RIS applications, including exam status, tracking, and exam lists.
  • Review and edit examinations in the RIS prior to radiologist dictation.
  • Organize workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency while utilizing LEAN methodology.
  • Monitor departmental inventory and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory/Kanban systems.
  • Participate in daily huddles, problem-solving activities, staff meetings, and continuing education.
  • Keep patients and families informed regarding estimated wait times and proactively address patient needs.
  • Assist patients with personal care, dressing, undressing, and mobility as needed.
  • Assist patients with bathroom needs, including patients using canes, crutches, or walkers.
  • Provide support to other areas of the department and hospital as requested.
  • Prioritize and adjust workload based on STAT orders, emergencies, outpatients, walk-ins, and fluctuations in patient volume.
  • Perform IV venipuncture after completing required training.
  • Participate in point-of-care phlebotomy training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program from an AMA-approved school.
  • Current ARRT certification.
  • Advanced CT certification/registration.
  • Valid Massachusetts state license.
  • Evidence of required continuing education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing patient volumes and clinical needs.
  • Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Siemens CT equipment preferred.
  • Hospital-based CT experience preferred.
