A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Network Automation Engineer

Job Title: Senior Network Automation Engineer (SASE / Security Automation)
Position type: Full Time – Contract
Duration: 18 Months Contract
Location: Las Colinas TX (preferred), Charlotte NC, Chandler AZ, Minneapolis MN (Hybrid-03 days onsite and 02 day Remote)
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior Network Automation Engineer to drive the transformation of network security operations into a fully automated, scalable, and unified model.
This role combines architecture design, hands-on engineering, and automation leadership, focused on Firewall, Proxy, NAC, and SASE environments. You will own the end-to-end automation lifecycle—from design to execution—while enabling zero-touch provisioning and reducing operational overhead.

Key Responsibilities
1. Network Security Automation Architecture

• Design and implement a unified automation architecture across: Palo Alto Firewall Fortinet Firewall Broadcom Cloud Proxy NAC / Sepio environments
• Standardize automation patterns, workflows, and lifecycle management
• Drive Day 0 / Day 1 / Day 2 automation for security infrastructure

2. Automation & Orchestration

• Build stateful, fault-tolerant workflows using Temporal / ORCA (or similar)
• Implement retry, timeout, validation, and compensation logic
• Develop reusable orchestration patterns for deployment and operations
• Deliver end-to-end zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) for SASE infrastructure

3. Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub & GitHub Actions
• Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation platforms and workflows
• Ensure versioning, testing, and promotion standards are followed

4. Source of Truth & Data Modeling

• Integrate and extend Nautobot as the authoritative source of truth
• Model topology, IPAM, and configuration data
• Ensure all automation workflows are data-driven and source-of-truth aligned

5. Operational Automation

• Design and implement Ansible-based automation
• Automate: Configuration management Compliance validation Rollback / remediation workflows
• Ensure all changes are secure, auditable, and repeatable

6. API & Observability Enablement

• Expose automation capabilities via Apigee APIs
• Instrument workflows using Grafana / Prometheus
• Enable telemetry for reliability, scalability, and troubleshooting

7. Transformation Delivery

• Automate NAC, Firewall, and Proxy certification & lifecycle processes
• Eliminate manual provisioning and reduce operational dependencies
• Deliver measurable improvements in: Deployment speed Operational efficiency Support effort

• Fully automated zero-touch provisioning model implemented
• Significant reduction in manual effort and deployment timelines
• Technology teams freed from repetitive provisioning tasks
• Unified architecture adopted across Firewall, Proxy, and NAC ecosystems
• Strong documentation enabling sustainable internal ownership

Required Skills & Experience

• Senior-level hands-on expertise in Python
• Strong experience with: GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Proven experience with Ansible-based operational automation
• Hands-on experience with: Palo Alto Firewall Fortinet Firewall Broadcom Cloud Proxy
• Strong understanding of network security controls and policy automation
• Experience designing and implementing stateful workflow orchestration
• Ability to operate independently in complex enterprise environments

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering / AI-driven automation
• Experience with SASE environments and large-scale enterprise networks
• Familiarity with Nautobot, Temporal, ORCA, Apigee, Grafana, Prometheus

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range: $65/hrto $70/hr
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
