Job description
A large global financial services organization is seeking an Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join an Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Enablement organization. This engineer will help modernize enterprise infrastructure platforms with a focus on container orchestration, Linux engineering, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
You will support production container platforms while developing reusable automation and infrastructure capabilities that improve consistency, reliability, and delivery speed for internal engineering teams. This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who enjoys solving infrastructure problems while improving the underlying platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and enhance enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
- Build automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Develop Ansible playbooks, roles, workflows, and reusable automation components.
- Administer enterprise Linux/Unix environments, including patching, configuration, and hardening.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and delivery pipelines.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules for infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, and application engineering teams.
- Help establish platform standards that improve scalability, reliability, and self-service capabilities.
Role Requirements:
- 4-6 years of infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering experience.
- Production experience supporting OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of container orchestration, operations, and security.
- Hands-on Linux/Unix engineering experience.
- Experience with Linux patching, hardening, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Practical Ansible or Ansible Automation Platform experience.
- Experience developing infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with Git and modern CI/CD processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple technology teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Terraform experience.
- Azure DevOps experience.
- VMware or VMware Cloud Foundation exposure.
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure.
- Experience in a large regulated enterprise.
