Executive Housekeeper/Cook in Cotswold (Starting at the End of December)

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Cotswold neighborhood of Charlotte in finding an Executive Housekeeper/Cook.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, 40 guaranteed hours per week, regardless of family travel. Any hours worked over 40 in a workweek are compensated at time and a half.

Some flexibility around the family's schedule is welcome, with notice given wherever possible.

The role

The best Executive Housekeeper/Cook for this family is detail-oriented, organized, discreet, and passionate about their career. The role has two halves — the care of a 4,500 sq ft home across three floors, and cooking healthy, whole-food meals for the parents — and the right candidate is confident at both. It is important that they can anticipate the needs of the home and family and work independently without direction. The family is looking for a long-term partner for years to come.

The family has two young daughters, ages 3 and 5, and employs a separate full-time nanny. The nanny manages the girls' meals and clothing; this role cooks for the parents. The Executive Housekeeper/Cook and the nanny work alongside one another; neither manages the other, and both report directly to the parents.

The family is relocating from London in December, so the opening weeks of this role are weighted toward unpacking, setting up, and organizing the home rather than settled routine. Comfort with that kind of project work is a plus.

Housekeeping

• Create and run a schedule to clean each area of the home on a rotating basis. The house is roughly 4,500 sq ft of interior space over three floors, with multiple bathrooms. Not all of it needs the same attention — the third floor and other low-traffic rooms sit on a lighter rotation, while the kitchen, bathrooms and main living areas are the daily priority.

• Clean the kitchen, bathrooms and high-traffic areas daily

• Change sheets and clean all bedrooms weekly, including the children's rooms

• The adults' laundry and all bed linens, washed, folded and put away

• Dry cleaning management

• Keep the home organized; seasonal closet rotation and wardrobe changeovers

• Household inventory and pantry management, reordering supplies as needed

• Deep cleaning and organization projects — baseboards, windows, oven and appliances, closets, seasonal rotations, garage — worked through from a standing project list during lighter weeks and while the family travels

• Package management

• Running errands

• Be at home when household vendors are present

• Cleaning products: the family supplies non-toxic, fragrance-free products and asks that these be used throughout, given young children in the home

Cooking

The family eats healthy, balanced, whole-food meals. Nothing elaborate or fancy, good ingredients, simply prepared, with plenty of vegetables and minimal processed food. This is a batch-cooking role, not a personal-chef role. Nothing is served; everything goes into containers in the fridge.

• Plan the week's cooking and share the plan with the family in advance

• Maintain a weekly grocery list and shop for the household

• Cook the parents' dinners in batches, packaged in containers, with enough volume that leftovers cover additional meals

• Prepare components so the family can assemble their own lunches — washed and cut fruit and vegetables, cooked grains and rice, roasted or grilled proteins, dressings and sauces

• Prep enough of these components that the nanny can also draw on them for the girls' meals

• Clean up fully behind all cooking

• Cook food that holds and reheats well — this is central to the role

• The parents have no dietary restrictions or allergies. The children's meals are handled by the nanny and are not part of this role.

• No entertaining or event catering is required in this role at any stage

The family will share a short list of favourites and dislikes, and asks for the week's menu in advance so it can be adjusted.

From summer 2027

The family hopes to welcome a third child in summer 2027. The role grows accordingly:

• Additional laundry volume, and the girls' clothing moves into this role at that point

• Washing and sterilizing bottles, pump parts and feeding equipment

• Preparing purées and baby food as the baby weans

There are no childcare duties in this role at any point — the nanny and, initially, a baby nurse handle all care of the children.

Discretion and confidentiality

Both parents run a business and work from the home. The Executive Housekeeper/Cook will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement at the start of employment, and is expected to exercise complete discretion regarding the family, the children, the home, its contents, and anything seen or heard in the household. This includes no photographs of the home, the family or the children shared publicly or on social media, and no reference to the family online.

Pets

The family has two mini Goldendoodles and a dog walker. The Executive Housekeeper/Cook should be comfortable with dogs in the home. There are no dog-related duties.

While the family travels

The parents travel for work and personally. The Executive Housekeeper/Cook continues working normal hours and is paid as usual. These lighter weeks are when the standing deep-cleaning and organization project list gets worked through. The nanny may be staying at the home overnight with the children during these periods.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional private-household cleaning experience

• Confident, experienced cook — whether professionally, in a private household, or through comparable experience. Formal culinary training is not required. What matters is healthy whole-food cooking and food that holds and reheats well.

• A track record of long tenures with previous families

• College degree or equivalent experience

• Professional resume

• Valid driver's license and safe, reliable transportation

• Minimum of three professional references

• Non-smoking/vaping

• CPR and First Aid certified

• Able to lift 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and manage stairs

• Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Up to date on vaccinations, including childhood vaccines, TDAP, and any others appropriate with a newborn in the home

Start date, salary and benefits

• This position starts the week of December 28th

• Legal pay is offered at $30 – $35 an hour, depending on experience, paid as a W-2 employee

• 40 guaranteed paid hours per week, regardless of family travel

• Overtime at time and a half for any hours worked over 40 in a workweek

• Continued pay while the family is away

• Two weeks of paid time off, scheduled by January for the year ahead

• 5 paid sick days, separate from paid time off

• Paid mileage for driving on the job, at the IRS standard rate

• Paid major holidays; if a holiday is worked, it would be paid at time and a half

• Household expenses: the family provides a dedicated card for groceries and household supplies. No personal funds to be used.

• Annual performance-based bonus
