This position will report to the Federal Program Manager and will be responsible for managing assigned projects and task orders from initiation through completion.

The selected candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality, and support compliance with client requirements, federal regulations, and AECOM standards. The Federal Project Manager will work closely with the Federal Program Manager, technical discipline leads, project controls staff, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project delivery.

This position may be located in AECOM’s Seattle, Portland, or Anchorage office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage assigned federal projects and task orders, ideally supporting clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, U.S. Air Force, or other federal agencies.
  • Report project performance, risks, financial status, and client concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and technical project teams.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk registers.
  • Monitor project progress against contractual requirements, deliverables, milestones, and performance objectives.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to project staff, technical leads, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project activities with architects, engineers, consultants, construction contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate internal and client project meetings.
  • Develop meeting agendas, document decisions, prepare meeting minutes, and track action items through completion.
  • Coordinate design reviews and support the resolution of technical comments and stakeholder concerns.
  • Review design documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and other project deliverables for completeness and compliance.
  • Track project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, invoicing, cash flow, and accounts receivable.
  • Analyze project financial information and identify potential cost, schedule, or performance variances.
  • Work with project controls and finance teams to maintain accurate project reporting.
  • Support contract administration, change management, subcontractor coordination, and task-order documentation.
  • Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency actions.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable federal requirements, contractual obligations, quality procedures, and company policies.
  • Perform assignments requiring sound judgment and the development of practical solutions in collaboration with the project team.
  • Support technical approaches, staffing plans, schedules, and cost estimates for proposals and task-order responses.
  • Actively support the pipeline development, client engagement, teaming arrangements, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and support the development of trusted, long-term client relationships.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and task direction to junior project staff.
  • Manage increasingly complex projects with growing responsibility for project teams and direct reports.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Drug testing will be required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing project documentation, reports, meeting materials, and client communications.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance and periodic oversight from the Federal Program Manager.
  • Experience delivering projects for USACE, NAVFAC, the U.S. Air Force, or another federal agency.
  • Experience managing projects under indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts or multi-award task-order contracts.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition requirements, design standards, quality-control procedures, and project documentation.
  • Experience with project financial management, forecasting, invoicing, and cash-flow monitoring.
