Job description
Make a significant difference in students’ lives as a school-based paraprofessional supporting educational environments near Warren, MI. As an instructional aide, you’ll have the unique opportunity to provide 1:1 assistance to students and contribute meaningfully to the classroom community. This per diem, as-needed role is perfect for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and eager to work flexible schedules based on school coverage needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social support for students in classroom settings
- Assist students individually or in small groups, following direction from teaching staff
- Help facilitate daily routines, classroom transitions, and encourage active participation
- Follow behavior intervention plans and support students in line with their IEPs, when applicable
- Aid with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs as required
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning atmosphere
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- One of the following: Active ParaPro certification, valid Substitute Teaching certificate, or at least 36 completed college credits
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to obtain TB test clearance per district guidelines
- Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
- Willingness to complete or update clearance requirements prior to starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus
