Job description

Analyst - Government & Public Services Practice

Join Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice as an Analyst and help organizations address complex challenges that matter. In this role, you will work alongside teams supporting transformation initiatives, improving performance, and helping clients generate measurable value. You will have opportunities to build consulting skills through hands-on experience, collaboration, and exposure across client environments.

As an Analyst in our Government & Public Services practice, you will be an integral member of a client service team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve multidimensional problems, improve performance, and generate value for our clients. You can capitalize on our cross-industry presence to find your niche and build your individual brand within the organization.

While a career in consulting is dynamic and evolving, we look for people who will perform in specific areas, grow those related skills, and deliver exceptional results to our clients. We recognize that candidates bring different skills, experiences, and interests, so we align Analysts to skills-based profiles that support development and client impact. Setting our people up for success is a priority, and we are currently recruiting Emergency Management Analysts whose skills and interests align with the below description:

Emergency Management Analyst

This Analyst is responsible for developing materials to advise organizations on how to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate against emergencies. Key responsibilities include disaster response plans, developing and conducting training sessions, assessing risks/hazards/vulnerabilities, supporting operation centers during emergencies, and implementing mitigation programs.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide clear guidance to others

The team Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice serves government agencies, higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other public sector organizations. Teams work across strategy, operations, technology, and transformation efforts to help clients improve mission outcomes and organizational performance. Professionals in the practice have opportunities to build specialized experience while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Summer 2027 or have completed a bachelor's degree or higher in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Risk Management or an equivalent program
  • Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required)
  • You must reside within a commutable distance (e.g. 100-mile radius) of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

Preferred:

  • 3.4 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Internship, project, or coursework experience in emergency management, homeland security, or risk management.

This is an entry-level opportunity intended for candidates interested in beginning or building a career in this field. We welcome applicants from a range of educational and professional backgrounds who meet the qualifications for the role. For roles that require a year or more of work experience, please review the experienced jobs within our careers site.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 to $87,000.
