Job Description Job Title Registered Nurse - Telemetry Med/Surg Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Telemetry Med/Surg for a rewarding contract opportunity in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role is based at a prominent healthcare facility, providing essential care to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care, including continuous cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and post-surgical management. You will play a crucial role in patient education and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding to changes appropriately and promptly. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols. Manage post-operative care, wound management, and other medical-surgical interventions. Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility standards. Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Telemetry Med/Surg unit. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment in Springfield, MA. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Clinical Skills: Advanced cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, medication administration (including IVs), wound care, post-operative care, vital sign assessment, EKG interpretation. Equipment: Proficient in the use of EKG machines, vital sign monitors, IV pumps, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Soft Skills: Critical thinking, problem-solving, effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, patient education, empathy, and adaptability.
