Job Description Job Title Surgical Technologist - Sterile Processing Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist with a specialization in Sterile Processing for a 13-week travel assignment in El Paso, Texas. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of sterile instruments and equipment essential for surgical procedures, directly contributing to patient safety and positive surgical outcomes. The successful candidate will perform comprehensive duties within the sterile processing department, including decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of medical devices. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer instructions. Operate and maintain various sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, and other advanced sterilization systems. Perform biological and chemical indicator testing to ensure proper sterilization parameters are met. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory. Identify and report malfunctioning equipment or instruments requiring repair or replacement. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile supplies. Adhere to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist or Sterile Processing Technician. Certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting in El Paso, Texas.
