About 3D Model Management

3D Model Management (3DMM) is a reality capture and building digitization company serving the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Since 2018, we've helped owners, architects, and contractors turn physical spaces into accurate, actionable 3D data — from LiDAR scanning and BIM modeling to custom digital solutions for the built environment. We're a hands-on, fast-moving team where field work and technology meet — and we're growing.

About the role

We are seeking a hybrid technologist to join our team working with LIDAR and Survey equipment. The ideal candidate will assist in various surveying and reality capture tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. This role involves working both in the office and in the field, utilizing advanced surveying tools and software to gather data for large scale building digitization projects. This position involves substantial travel across the US and potentially internationally

What you'll do

  • Contribute survey knowledge and experience as part of a larger LIDAR technician team

  • Understand software such as Leica Register 360, Ivion, Civil 3D / Revit as an upstream contributor.
  • Assist in the preparation of survey reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, LIDAR technicians and other professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Engage in lifting and physical tasks as necessary during fieldwork.
  • Have an interest in laser scanning and be prepared to conduct laser scanning fieldwork as part of the scope of the role (training provided) or be willing to learn survey techniques while contributing LIDAR knowledge.
  • Be prepared to travel on alternating weeks to project locations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Leica Hardware and Software is highly desirable.
  • A strong interest in building design, construction and operations.
  • Strong understanding of building surveying and/or LIDAR principles and practices.
  • Capability to handle lifting associated with equipment transportation and setup.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development assistance
  • Relocation assistance
  • Vision insurance

The pay range for this role is:
