Job descriptionJob Title Registered Nurse (RN), Telemetry / Med-Surg Job Summary Join a dedicated nursing team as a Registered Nurse on the 2 North unit, a 50-bed Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care Unit located within the Baystate Health system in Westfield, MA. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to a diverse patient population requiring cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical interventions. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will manage a patient ratio of 6:1, focusing on patient assessment, medication administration, and collaborative care planning. The unit emphasizes teamwork and excellent patient outcomes within a supportive hospital environment, ensuring patients receive the best care possible. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care unit. Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry equipment effectively. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to physician orders. Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documentation. Required Qualifications Nursing Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's). Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Telemetry, Med-Surg, or Intermediate Care.
