You must have an active Texas or compact state RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and at least one year of recent operating room experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced clinical knowledge, proficiency with sterile techniques, and familiarity with a range of surgical instruments and electronic medical record (EMR) systems are essential. Certification as a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) is recommended but not mandatory.
