Job description

Salary: $95,000 - 140,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We look for 5 to 7 years of experience administering Microsoft technologies.
  • We need experience supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 environments.
  • We require hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and related services.
  • We value direct experience moving workloads from self-managed virtual machines to native Azure managed services.
  • We expect a background in maintaining and stabilizing production Azure and hybrid infrastructure.
  • We want experience delivering automation or AI-driven solutions.
  • We need strong understanding of enterprise systems administration principles.
  • We look for excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • We need strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • We expect the ability to translate complex cloud and AI topics for non-technical audiences.
  • We value strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • We need a customer-oriented mindset.
  • We expect the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • A bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AI-102, PL-600, or MS-102 are preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • We will rely on you to stabilize, maintain, and modernize our Microsoft Azure environment.
  • You will help advance our adoption of Microsoft AI capabilities, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, and the Power Platform.
  • You will keep our current infrastructure healthy while we transition from self-managed virtual machines to managed Azure services.
  • You will re-architect and migrate workloads to PaaS solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • You will support secure solution design in partnership with our dedicated security resource.
  • You will help introduce AI-enabled capabilities over time while continuing to operate the existing environment.
  • You will collaborate with stakeholders to explain cloud and AI concepts in a clear, practical way.

We are the Fire and Police Pension Association, created by legislative mandate in the 1980s. We administer a statewide multiple-employer public employee retirement system that provides defined benefit, death, and disability coverage for police officers and firefighters across Colorado. We are a small organization of about 70 staff based in Denver, and we value a balanced relationship between personal needs and work commitments. This is a hands-on Systems Engineer II role with a salary range of $95,000 to $140,000 depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, life insurance, long-term disability, paid time off, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and professional development support. The role is based in person.
