Senior Risk Management Analyst

Arctic Slope Regional Corporation has an immediate opening for a Senior Risk Management Analyst on a hybrid schedule in either Anchorage, AK or Tempe, AZ. ASRC employs more than 16,000 people nationwide and operates in six major industrial segments: government contract services, petroleum refining and marketing, energy support services, industrial services, construction, and financial services. All commercial insurance and associated risk management functions for the family of companies are delivered by the Risk Management Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (and other duties as assigned)

  1. Provide support to enterprise operations and corporate parent company regarding all aspects of the corporate insurance and risk transfer programs.
  2. Manage multiple large and complex property and casualty insurance renewals annually, to include working with brokers and underwriters to gather applications, customize for and distribute to subsidiaries, answer questions, assemble and quality control data, and submit within deadline.
  3. Act as primary point of contact for operational subsidiaries on matters relating to corporate insurance including coverage, contract language requirements, self-insured exposures, project-specific placements, certificates of insurance, and applications and exposure schedules.
  4. Define problems and goals, then initiate and follow through on enacting solutions with limited direct supervision.
  5. Identify patterns, concerns and trends to management to assist in loss reduction, based on knowledge of subsidiaries' activities and operations.
  6. Initiate and lead exposure and coverage discussions or meetings between various company personnel (operations, HSE, Finance, Legal), brokers and underwriters.
  7. Perform database management (initial set-up for new entities, maintenance and data entry) within multiple platforms for claims, exposure schedules and other insurance related information.
  8. Maintain all related files and filing, including confidential medical records, police reports, payroll records, etc.
  9. Develop and update risk management and insurance reports, policies and procedures, and deliver them to management and other stakeholders.
  10. Operate in an environment that requires a high level of interpersonal skills including handling sensitive and confidential situations which require demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy over the phone and via written correspondence.
  11. Assist department management with various administrative functions related to department operations.
  12. Work with coworkers and stakeholders both co-located and in separate geographical locations.

Education and/or Experience

  1. Associates or Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent related industry experience (5-7 years)
  2. Minimum three years prior experience with similar duties at an insurance firm, insurance broker or risk management department
  3. Experience working with governmental agencies or construction preferred
  4. ARM or CRIS designations preferred
  5. Ability to use Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams. Ability to use various video conferencing programs

Detail Oriented

Ability to review renewal data, submissions, quotes, binders, policies and other documentation in a detailed manner for accuracy and completeness.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts and leases, claim reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or consultants.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
