Join an Established Heavy Civil Contractor
A well-established heavy civil construction contractor that has been serving the market for over a century is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its team. The company specializes in road construction, milling, and a variety of other civil infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction professional who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final closeout while working closely with field leadership, clients, subcontractors, and company management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and material needs
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Track project costs, production, quantities, and overall financial performance
- Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Identify project risks and proactively resolve scheduling, cost, and operational challenges
- Support procurement and subcontractor negotiations
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project and field teams
- Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability
- Assist with preconstruction, budgeting, bid reviews, and project handoff
Qualifications
- 7+ years of construction project management experience, preferably within heavy civil construction
- Strong background in road construction, milling, grading, earthwork, site development, or related civil infrastructure
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, and financial performance
- Strong understanding of heavy civil field operations and construction methods
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with public and/or private infrastructure projects preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
- Estimating experience is a plus, including takeoffs, bid preparation, cost analysis, and preconstruction
