Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Quality Engineer to join a growing precision manufacturing organization in
Lake Geneva, WI. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer with a strong automotive manufacturing background and
hands-on IATF 16949 experience.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive quality systems and core quality tools and will enjoy working directly with Engineering, Manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to identify problems, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes.
Job Duties:
- Support and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Suppliers, and Customers to resolve quality issues and improve product and process performance.
- Lead and support root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze quality data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
- Support APQP and PPAP activities for new products and engineering changes.
- Utilize automotive quality core tools including PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
- Support internal, customer, and supplier audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Investigate customer complaints and internal nonconformances and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Work with production teams to improve process capability, reduce scrap, and prevent recurring quality issues.
- Assist with inspection and measurement activities, including review of dimensional and capability data.
- Promote a culture of quality at the source, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
- 2+ years of Quality Engineering or Quality Systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 is required.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Strong understanding of automotive quality core tools, including:
- APQP
- PPAP
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- SPC
- MSA
- Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with corrective action processes and customer quality issues.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production personnel, engineers, suppliers, and customers.
- Experience with metal forming, springs, wire products, stamping, or similar precision manufacturing is a plus.
