Job description
What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.Today, we are an alliance of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and a national office that work in communities across the United States to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need. NAMI advocates for all who are affected by mental illness, both the individuals and the people in their lives. We work to address disparities and injustices and to promote dignity and inclusion for all people with mental illness and their families. In addition to being advocates, we educate, we listen, and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns, the range of programs we provide, and our strong public policy.We currently have an opening for Data Analyst. The Data Analyst is responsible for partnering with product and technical teams to design and support measurement and evaluation of NAMI's programs, initiatives, and services. As a key member of the Data Team, the Data Analyst will support the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to foster improvement and inform decision-making across NAMI initiatives. This position advances NAMI's mission by ensuring the consistent use of data for program evaluation and continuous improvement of NAMI activities.This full-time position can be remote or based at NAMI Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid basis.Salary Range: $68k - $75kESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and lead data projects from beginning to end, including discovery, analysis, and delivery to meet project objectives.Understand data needs across the organization to develop quantitative and qualitative data measures that provide actionable insights.Partner with data team members to design, standardize, and automate reporting processes.Design and implement evaluation frameworks that measure long-term outcomes and impact.Establish and support implementation of sustainable protocols and processes for data collection, management, and evaluation to ensure team consistency and quality, collaborating with Information Systems (IS) on infrastructure dependencies as needed.Partner with stakeholders to effectively communicate insights from data analysis, including the creation of data visualizations.Collaborate with the development team to provide proposal evaluation metrics and produce deliverables for grant requirements.Provide technical guidance on data storage, data cleaning, and data use best practices.Collaborate with the Data Team and other NAMI National staff to address barriers to effective data management and reporting.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in data science, business analytics, statistics, public health, social sciences, or related field3-4 years of relevant experienceProficiency with mix methods data analysis (quantitative and qualitative data)Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skillsStrong technical skills using survey, data analysis, and visualization software (e.g. SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, STATA, Excel, NVivo, Power BI, Tableau)Familiarity with data modeling, database systems and languages (e.g. SQL Server, BigQuery)Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems (CRMs - e.g. Salesforce)Expert communicator that can produce clear and concise reporting with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiencesStrong team player with a high level of interpersonal skillsMust pass background checkYour salary is only one component of the total compensation package.
