Server

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Provide knowledgeable answers about menu items, specials, beverages, and available options.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
• Ensure all beverages, including waters, are entered into the POS system as required.
• Suggestively sell beverages, appetizers, desserts, and other menu items when appropriate.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and check orders for accuracy and presentation.
• Check back with guests throughout their meal and respond quickly to requests.
• Pre-bus tables throughout the guest's visit and keep the dining area clean and organized.
• Process cash, credit card, and other payments accurately.
• Complete assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
• Clean and maintain assigned server sections, including tables, booths, chairs, décor, windows, floors, and surrounding areas.
• Help maintain clean and properly stocked restrooms when assigned.
• Restock necessary supplies, including silverware, condiments, cups, napkins, and other service items.
• Assist with running food from the kitchen, even when the food belongs to another server's table.
• Communicate professionally with cooks, expo, hosts, bussers, managers, and fellow servers.
• Check out with a manager or shift lead before leaving at the end of the shift.
• Make sure all assigned side work and cleaning duties are completed and approved before clocking out.

Teamwork Expectations

Servers are expected to work as a team. A successful shift requires everyone to help where needed. This includes running food, bussing tables, helping stock supplies, assisting another server who is busy, and keeping shared areas clean.

Servers should not stand by when another team member needs assistance. The goal is to provide excellent service to every guest, not just the guests in your assigned section.

Attendance & Reliability

Servers are expected to:

• Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work at the scheduled start time.
• Maintain dependable and consistent attendance.
• Follow restaurant procedures regarding call-outs, shift coverage, and schedule changes.
• Remain at work until released by a manager or shift lead.
• Communicate scheduling or attendance concerns professionally and as early as possible.

Guest Service Standards

Every server is expected to:

• Treat guests with respect, patience, and professionalism.
• Maintain a positive attitude, even during busy or stressful periods.
• Handle guest concerns appropriately and involve a manager when necessary.
• Avoid arguing with guests or discussing workplace issues in front of guests.
• Create an experience that encourages guests to return.

Cleanliness & Food Safety

Servers must follow all restaurant food-safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures. This includes proper handwashing, maintaining clean service areas, preventing cross-contamination, and immediately addressing spills or other safety hazards.

Qualifications

• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Willingness to receive coaching and follow management direction.
• Ability to remain professional during high-volume or stressful situations.
• Previous serving experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

The position may require prolonged standing and walking, bending, reaching, carrying trays, and lifting restaurant supplies or equipment. Employees must be able to safely perform the physical responsibilities required for the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Performance Expectations

Servers are expected to consistently meet restaurant standards for guest service, teamwork, cleanliness, attendance, side work, order accuracy, and professionalism.

Where the food tastes a lot like your grandma’s favorite recipes. And where you feel, every time you visit, like you’ve finally come home.
